I find it fascinating that in Australia and a few other places in the Southern Hemisphere, they have maps that are “upside down” from a Northern Hemisphere point of view. Cardinal directions being all relative anyway, why wouldn’t you put your own country front and center on a map? Still, it’s really disorienting to look at when it’s not what you’re used to. 

Though, from this map it makes it impossible to call Australia ‘down under’. You’d have to call it ‘up over’ and that just sounds all kinds of awkward.
